Nick Rice, Senior Environmental Biologist, Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) provided a thorough overview about the habitats and residents found on the north “drier side” of the Las Vegas Wash last night

at Clark County Wetlands Park’s Nature Center Auditorium from 6 PM to 8 PM. An estimated 48 people attended the talk, participating in the Q&A and enjoying the snacks provided by the Park. We had a lucky attendee win the drawing for a book, “Mojave Desert Wildflowers” about the flora found in the southwest. The “Wetlands in the Summer” lecture series is a joint collaboration of Wetlands Park Friends and Clark County Wetlands Park. SNWA is one of 26 member agencies of the Las Vegas Wash Coordination Committee (LVWCC), which has spent over 25 years working to stabilize and enhance the Wash, reducing erosion, improving water quality, and creating important habitat for more than 1,000 plants and animals.
