NFL Green Planting a Success December 7!

A group of children are planting a tree in the desert.

The focal point of this NFL Green event was on the planting of 20 large trees and 38 native plants— a total of 58 items — to commemorate the upcoming Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas! Thirty-five 5th grade students from Ferron Elementary School, Park staff, community volunteers (including Wetlands Park Friends Board Members Chris Leavitt and Linda Wiltberger), and an NFL representative, provided the labor performed at Clark County Wetlands Park Loop Trailhead (adjacent to the Nature Play Corner). The trees and plants will provide pollinator and wildlife habitat, shade, and beauty. This event was done in partnership with the Park and Friends. Friends provided bus transportation for the students via the REI-Coop grant it donated to the Clark County School District for bus transportation used with conjunction with Park programs.
