Wetlands Park Friends marked its Fifth Anniversary by recognizing its Founding Members during its Annual Meeting on November 16. This year, Friends piggybacked its required meeting after a fascinating lecture—”The Secret Lives of Burrowing Owls”—led by Member Rick Walker. The lecture was well received by those who attended. Then Friends Members gathered after the lecture for a brief Annual Meeting. Lastly, the Friends Board recognized its Founding Members for hanging steadfast to its mission. At the meeting, 16 Founding Members posed for a picture (two Members, Chris Leavitt and Marsha Gladding (left to right) are “hiding” in the second row). Friends Founding Members also received special commemorative coins as thank you gifts. If you are a Friends Founding Member and were unable to attend this meeting, you may pick up your commemorative coin at the Friends table at Clark County Wetlands Park’s Holiday Open House December 13 from 1 PM to 3 PM at the Park Nature Center.
