Lecture 2 of 5: “Over Two Decades of Conservation: The Story of the Relict Leopard Frog”
Speaker: Jef Jaeger, UNLV Associate Professor in Residence with the School of Life Sciences
Endemic to southern Nevada, the Relict Leopard Frog suffered a substantial decline in range and numbers by the end of the 20th century. In 2001, the species became the focus of an intensive, multiagency conservation effort that is centered on managing populations and systematic monitoring. Professor Jaeger’s presentation will focus on the history of this conservation program, along with its successes, setbacks, and limitations.
