A Morning Weir Walk
April 23, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Welcome to the Water! Please join Ms. Leavitt on a special morning walk through Clark County Wetlands Park’s Nature Preserve to learn how creative and disciplined recycled water management was responsible for enhancing and developing habitats for wildlife and amenities especially constructed for visitor use in the 210-acre site.
This easy, approximately 90-minute, 1.5-mile tour will take place on relatively flat terrain on both paved and packed dirt trails considered handicap accessible. If you are interested in attending but are uncomfortable with the walking distance, let us know in your RSVP and a representative will contact you. Refreshments and social time to follow at the Nature Center after the walk.
Ms. Leavitt was instrumental in the formation and operations of the Park since its inception in the mid-1990’s. Upon her retirement from Park operations in the mid-2000’s, she has actively volunteered in Park programs and the archiving of its historical records. She was also a mastermind behind the creation and founding of Wetlands Park Friends, the all-volunteer, nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to support the programs and activities of the Park.
